HK2 Architects, LLC, provides comprehensive design for all types of projects. We are experts at responding to each client and each project differently. We love to work at all scales, from the street or the city, right on down to the hinge on a cabinet or a unique light fixture.

Design Philosophy

We seek bold, timeless design that will not feel out of style in a few years. We like to work with clean, contemporary aesthetics that bring forth the vocabulary of traditional architecture in a new light. We also enjoy working in historical styles. Howard’s training at the University of Notre Dame focused in large part on Classical and vernacular architecture from around the world.

What We Do

Construction projects can take on a life of their own, and require a central figure with a comprehensive awareness of all the elements. The architect serves this role as the owner’s primary advisor. He or she can balance the myriad needs that come up during a long-term project, while maintaining the overall vision the owner seeks.

We also understand that a top-notch project team is essential for a successful job. We have excellent relationships with experienced contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and other professionals, if the owner does not already have these contacts.

What We Believe

We believe in crafting and nourishing the owner’s vision. We will suggest many concepts to answer the owner’s needs and wants, and we work with the owner to arrive at a design they love.

We believe that projects are successful when all parties maintain an open and honest dialogue on cost. We want to help each owner reach his or her goals, and we strive for realistic budget forecasting during the initial phases of design. We like to engage contractors early and often, to narrow the window of cost and keep all parties on target.
